The album is seven tracks (or six and a half) split into an A or B side (two tracks)... I could have split the songs into seven tracks... But I didn't want to... I like the way the tracks flow into eachother so I left it as two tracks... Enjoy.

about

"Sittin' 'round waitin' for the world to end..." was the response my good friend Jerry Palmer gave to my inquiring how he was doing during the last phone call I would have with him. A few months later he would die of a heart attack. This phrase always stuck with me. It could be interpreted in the negative, as in you're just sitting there waiting for time to cease, or you're waiting for some biblical flood to wipe out the earth, or you're just simply waiting to die. I choose to see it in a positive light. Sitting in quiet reflection of the good life you're living until it's your time to go. That is exactly the way I'm trying to live my life. I'm trying to see as much of the world as I can before I go, and I'm trying to make art that I'm proud of to leave behind when I do. To me that means writing as many songs as I can, recording as much music as I can, and releasing as much of it out into the world as I can possibly manage, all while living a life that is worthy of writing about. A life worth quietly reflecting about as you sit on the porch watching the sunset for the last time...

This album is made up of an amalgamation of songs that were written and recorded at varying times between 2003 and 2014 at Speakeasy Recording Studio in Oceanside, CA.

This album is dedicated to the memory of my friend Jerry "The Scrap Man" Palmer and to my love, my muse Maria Espach.
I'd like to thank my friends Brett Wood, Ray Ream, JP Hewett, Marco Savoia and Mike Reilly for helping me make this album.
Special thanks to my father Thomas E. Williams, Jessica Smith, Adam Rosen, Aunt Pat and Uncle Wayne, Aunt Hilda and Uncle Bo, Aunt Betty and Uncle Dana, Connie Arand, Danica Jordan, Scott Llyod, Alison Rubalcava, Gregory Thornton, Josie Walton, Lani Francis, Phil Needleman, Stephanie Scurry-Phillips, Summer Breault, Jason York, Rebecca and Kevin Joelson, Nate Mahan, Heather Akridge, Neil Mclean, Matthew Rakers, Ron and Danielle Rauto, Sarah and Chad Spinks, Sam Bunn, Yiga Miyashiro, Jason Payne, Cody Vaughn, Unkie Winston Goertz-Giffen, Ernesto Garcia, Jimbo Carlin, Bernie Bernal, Rhy Thornton, Lyle Plumlee, Jon Latimer, Alexis Embrey and Ch@nge. For without your financial contributions all these songs might have never left my hard drive, or my head. Thank you for your support and thank you for your generosity. I hope you enjoy the album. I also want to thank my mother, my grandparents alive and deceased, my brother and his whole family, my sister, and all the rest of my family and friends for the years of support and positive energy.

"Absense" (the absence of sense) was started by me in early 2012 as just a vocal and guitar. Then my friend JP Hewett came to the studio and we added all types of percussion goodness... before Brett Wood added clarinet, valved trombone, accordion, hammond M2 organ and a very out of tune upright piano.
"Eggs and Sperm" was one of the first songs I ever wrote, though I didn't record it until early 2013. I recorded all the guitars and percussion (which is just me hitting my guitar and playing on it like a snare drum with brushes), and after a rough mix my friend Mike Reilly came in and added some diddley bow (a slide guitar made out of a pool cue and a cigar box), before my friend Marco Savoia added some upright bass to finish it off.
"I don't need you..." was recorded sometime in 2009. It's just me playing banjo and singing.
"Ek is lief vir jou, Maria." was written and recorded at the end of 2012 as an homage to my lover. It started out as just my voice and a couple of different ukuleles. My friend Brett Wood added some accordion that we made sound like a harmonium with some recording trickery, and I added some electric guitar. My lady Maria sang some back up vocals and finally Marco Savoia added some upright bass as well as the trumpet part that Brett and I tripled to give it that mariachi sound.

"Like stories are told" was recorded in early 2013. I recorded everything except the simulated strings and the flute solo which were both Brett Wood. There's guitars (acoustic, electric and slide), banjo, bass, drum kit and a whole lotta percussion... as well as a record player metronome.
"Closer to closure" was written by my good friend Ray Ream and we recorded the guitar, bass and drums in 2003 at our home studio at 4201 Borra court in Oceanside. This is one of the first recordings we ever made. I added the vocals, back up vocals by Maria Espach and some other whatnots like sleigh bells, slide guitar, kazoos and assorted percussion in late 2013/early 2014 at Speakeasy.
"Broken soul" was recorded in late 2007 as a blues jam with my friend Mike Reilly on guitar and slide guitar. I added the drums and vocals in 2013 as well as the Rhodes piano by my man Brett Wood. The inspirational quotes are taken from a random recording session I did with a woman named Tamar (I didn't catch her last name).
